Summer Patio Season

It's been a rather dreary summer. We had a few patches of good weather, but for the most part summer has been interrupted by rain storm after rain storm. Just sad.

Yesterday, we finally had a weekend to smile about. And, not to waste the day, a few gals decided to head out for pedis, before spending the afternoon on a sunny patio. After strolling about town, chatting and keeping an eye out for an available table at a patio, we finally settled into Elysian Cafe.

Since moving to a newer part of Hoboken last fall, I've frequented Elysian several times and it has never left me disappointed. Yesterday, was no exception. Offering a brunch until the early evening, the menu was chock-full of goodies. We all settled on the grilled chicken sandwhich on foccaccia bread, which was topped with bacon, tomato and avacado. Paired with a round of bellinis, it made for great meal as we chatted the afternoon away.

Now, if Mother Nature would give us a couple more beautiful weekends before the cool weather sets in, I'd be eternally grateful.
